CARLISLE 2005
|
The second round of the Kwik-Fil/Pirelli British Rally Championship gives drivers the chance to revisit picturesque Cumbria as the Pirelli International Rally returns to familiar territory. The historic Border City of Carlisle will become centre of attention as the Rally moves back into town with the start ramp located outside the city's medieval Town Hall. Completely revamped the route will feature stages in the North of Cumbria as well as the huge Kielder Forest complex, long renowned as classic rallying country and boasting some of the most challenging roads around. This new schedule sees the action compressed into a Friday evening/ Saturday format which will give competitors the opportunity to experience night time stages. "Kielder by Moonlight" should be quite a challenge and bring back memories of the Lombard RAC Rally. An additional remote service park has been introduced by the organisers to cut road mileage and reduce competitors' costs whilst the main service park will be located at a new venue, Hadrian's Camp, adjacent to the M6 motorway. Spectator Stage There will be a Spectator Stage and Rally Show offering both families and sponsors the opportunity to view the event in full flow. |
