PHIL IS NOT FORGOTTEN

News

Following the tragic and sudden death of Phil Branthwaite, the Service Area Co-ordinator on this weekends Pirelli International rally, the event organisers have come up with a unique way to remember their late, and greatly liked colleague. Every competing car in the two day rally will be asked to carry a small roundel sticker bearing, quite simply, the word “Phil” as a mark of respect for a man who put in many, many hours of unseen work to make sure that the service side of the rally went smoothly.

The decal will also be carried on all the Official cars, course cars, Pirelli V.I.P vehicles and by a large number of local enthusiasts who remember Phil with affection. Commenting on the decision, the rally’s Media Manager, Ed Graham said, “We very much wanted Phil to be remembered and, with this gesture, he will still be a part of the rally. He deserves no less for he was a phenomenal worker for the Pirelli International Rally, not mention a good friend of us all.
