Carlisle will go “Rally Mad” later this month when the Pirelli International Rally roars back into town after a three year absence to give the thousands of Cumbrian motorsport enthusiasts their much awaited “fix” of the adrenalin pumping high speed thrills and spills of one of the worlds most spectacular action packed sports around.

The events return to the historic Border city has been eagerly awaited and the organisers have been inundated with requests for the rally to come back to the town where it was previously based for over 20 years. Now, thanks to a deal with Carlisle City council and support from the Kingmoor Business Park, the town centre will be awash with banners, flags and the pretty Pirelli girls when the top drivers descend on Carlisle over the weekend of 20/ 21 st. May.

While the administration centre for the rally will be in the Sands Leisure Centre, the crowds will flock to the city centre where the Start and Finish ramp will be located in front of Carlisle’s historic Town Hall. A short burst up the road will take the crews to the spectacular, P-Zero Spectator Stage at Crosby on Eden, specially constructed for the Pirelli International Rally, this will give the crowds plenty of excitement as the cars roar round the 1.4 mile circuit which features two huge jumps and a crowd pleasing water splash.
