Carlisle 2006
The revamped 2006 British Rally Championship will blast off with the 30th running of the Pirelli International Rally, the Carlisle based event giving the championship just the launching pad it needs with it’s high profile City Centre Start outside Carlisle’s picturesque Old Town Hall and the fabulous “P-Zero” Spectator Stage providing a spectacular opening round of the United Kingdom’s top rally series.
As always, the Pirelli International Rally will see a superb route featuring stages in the North of Cumbria and in the legendary “Killer Kielder” Forest complex, an area long renowned as classic rallying country, boasting some of the most challenging roads to be found anywhere.
A new, competitor friendly, schedule will see the rally compressed into a Saturday/Sunday format, this will hopefully reduce overheads and time away from work, while giving the opportunity to experience the famous Keilder stages, evoking memories of the days when the area played host to the famous Lombard RAC Rally,
With additional events for various One Make Series and Clubmen, the Pirelli International Rally has something to offer competitors at all levels and promises to be a weekend that no enthusiast will want to miss.
