Proof that the Pirelli Historic Rallies inclusion in the HRCR promoted Dunlop/ Gambia MSA British Historic Rally Championship was a very popular move was confirmed by the stream of competitors who visited the organisers stand at the HRCR Open Day requesting regulations and information about the 2008 event which will be the second round of the championship and will run over 18th / 19th. April.

“ It was great to meet so many competitors and to hear their views” said Ed Graham, the rallies Media Manager who manned the club stand along with Webmaster Brian Huddleston, “Our first venture into historic motorsport was obviously a huge success, the fact that so many top competitors are eager to return is very pleasing and encouraging and we look forward to welcoming them back to Carlisle”

The format for this years Pirelli Historic Rally will be very similar to that of 2007 with the event centred at the specially constructed “Rally Village” on Carlisle Airport. The Friday night action will see a repeat of the format of a number of stages run in quick succession , something many competitors commented on favourably, while Saturday’s action gives crews the opportunity to tackle the longer, faster, free flowing stages in the legendary Kielder Forest complex.
