The "New Format" Pirelli Historic rally, the second round of the Dunlop/wonago.com British Historic Rally Championship, looks likely to be a surefire hit with competitors, judging by the feedback received by the rally organisers who attended the HRCR Open day at Gaydon recently.

The rallies stand at what was, effectively, the launch of the championship, saw a non-stop stream of prospective championship contenders queueing up for information on the Carlisle based event and it looks like a bumper entry will be heading for Cumbria for the April 24th. event.

The Pirelli Historic Rally's Media Manager, Ed Graham, commented, " We had an extremely busy day and were inundated with enquiries from championship entrants. They all seemed to like our new, one day, format and the compact nature of the rally. Interest in historic rallying seems to be at an all time high and I am sure that we are going to get a great entry this year which is great news for the spectators who love to see these cars"
