2019 BRC Crews Comments at Finish at Brampton
International Rally 2019 (BRC Section)
Reporter: Robin Ellison Finish at Brampton
1 Matt Edwards Patrick Walsh
Long and troublesome day, picked up a front right puncture in SS3 which delaminated almost instantly and we took a slow rear right puncture into SS4 which continued to delaminate after we’d replaced the front right puncture. Struggled with a misfire in SS6 & 7 but happy to make it to the end despite the problems

Pleased with a win in tricky conditions all day. It’s taken a while to pick up the Pirelli Rally victory for the first time in 9 attempts. The Team are delighted with the result, back to back BRC victories which sets us up for an exciting run of tarmac events.
3 David Bogie John Rowan
Happy to get to the end of a cruel event, we felt like we were losing time as the day went on, and a puncture in SS6 took us waway from 3rd overall which isn’t great but 3rd BRC is a great points scoring grab especially to finish ahead of the reigning champion.
4 Jari Huttunen Antti Linnaketo
We had many problems throughout the day, picked up a puncture and struggled with the set up. I feel as though without our problems we’d have won this rally. 3 stage wins from 7 stages. We should have done better. 3rd overall is good though.
6 Rhys Yates James Morgan
Mint event. We had absolutely no issues throughout the day which made some incredibly tricky stages an absolute pleasure to drive. Picked up a stage win on SS3, 2nd in SS6 & 7 which just kept us lit in 2nd overall. Nice to make it back to back 2nd overalls on the Pirelli Rally. Buzzing to pick up the podium on a one of run in the BRC this season. Sets us up nicely going into WRC2 in Portugal
8 Stephen Petch Michael Wilkinson
Picked up some very crucial stage miles today, the conditions were very tricky but we made it to the end with no issues whatsoever
9 Alex Laffey Stuart Loudon
Picked up a puncture on SS1 which pushed us out of the Top 10 immediately. Played catchup all day and just couldn’t get the time back. Chicanes were pesky all day so we didn’t carry much speed through those, happy to get to the end. Onto Ypres.
