Extra Incentive for "Tour's" two wheelers |
Competitors in the Carlisle based Pirelli Tour of Cumbria using two wheel drive cars have an added bonus with the announcement that ANCRO, the Pirelli Gravel Rally Championship organisers, have teamed up with leading friction manufacturer Mintex to offer a very attractive incentive to crews using two wheel drive cars. The highest placed crew on the event will be offered a free entry into a subsequent round of their choice, a stunning prize with a value of around £500 to the lucky crew. Additionally, at the end of the season, the highest placed crew in the Mintex backed category will receive a cheque for £1000. Commenting on this latest announcement, a spokesman for the Pirelli Tour of Cumbria said, “This is a fabulous prize and should prove a tremendous incentive to competitors. We look forward very much to welcoming the Pirelli Gravel Rally Championship to Carlisle and hope that drivers of such cars as Astras, Corsas, Fiestas, Rovers and even the ageless Ford Escort will grab this initiative and come and join the party” The Pirelli Tour of Cumbria, the third round of the 2009 Pirelli Gravel Rally Championship, will be based at Carlisle Racecourse and will feature 8 stages in the legendary Kielder Forest complex. |
