The organisers of the Pirelli International Rally, the second round of the Kwik Fit/ Pirelli British Rally Championship which runs on 20/ 21 May, are urging intending competitors plus all media and spectators intending to visit the Carlisle based event, to book their accommodation early as space is likely to be at a premium. Following the recent disastrous floods which hit the Border city, some 3,500 families had to be moved into temporary accommodation, putting an enormous strain on the local hotels and guest houses, several of which were themselves flood victims, and, although the situation is now getting back to normal, there are still a number of places which will be fully booked for some time.
