ITS GO,GO,GO FOR P-ZERO

News

Work has now been completed on the construction of the new spectator stage, code named P-Zero, that will be a feature of the revamped and relocated Pirelli International Rally and the event organisers are confident that it will provide a spectacular and crowd pleasing curtain raiser to this years rally, the second round of the Kwik Fit/ Pirelli British Rally Championship, which this year returns to Carlisle after a 3 year sojourn in Gateshead.

The 1.4 mile stage, situated in the North of Cumbria, has been laid out under the supervision of Deputy Clerk of the Course, Alan Blake and will certainly give drivers an early wake up call. The opening section, laid out in parkland, features more twists and turns than a pole dancers routine, then it's on to a fast straightish section, complete with crowd pleasing “Yumps” and a newly installed water splash before a series of fast curves bring the finish line into sight. The P Zero spectator stage will be used twice on each day of the Pirelli International Rally and together with the proposed adjacent Rally Show plus plenty of trackside parking, full commentary, catering facilities and on site “Comfort Stations”, is bound to be a big hit with rally enthusiasts and casuaal spectators alike.
